The Essential Worker
This was one of my first videos that I story boarded, shot, directed and edited. This was one of my proudest pieces as it was not only my first video that I did alone, I had to find and email industries and asked them if I could film on-site. This shoot took place during the peak of the pandemic so it was challenging to find staff to film. Thankfully Sentosa was kind enough to allocate a staff to help me out with my shoot and the end product is what we have above.
Identity Crisis
This was a video journalism project that I did. This again was a solo project that talked about being scammed. So I did the story board, went out and find people who were willing to talk about being scammed and also post editing. I even appeared in the video as a form of illustration and explanation.
Chingay 50 Interview
This was a group work and it was a multimedia work. I was in charge of editing this and this was actually my first time where we had to sync the audio of the recording to the video. It was difficult to do it as they are masked so it was hard to match their mouths to the recording. It was also during the pandemic so not everyone could go down to take videos of the training.
School Overseas Trip To Bangkok
This was a fun video I did for school. It was a video summarising our school trip to Bangkok. We had different roles for this one. Some collected B-rolls that highlighted the trip, even me! For this, I was in charge of editing as well as doing the voice over detailing what we did on the different days.
Kiss92 The Morning Show Snippet - Social Butterfly
For this edit, I had to go through hours of footage from the morning segment livestream and pick out interesting points that the viewers might enjoy, be it informative or funny. I was in charge of editing and ensuring that the right graphic is used. The camera syncing was a little difficult but I got used to it as I continued editing.
The Sex Trade History Of Singapore
This was our first try at a short documentary for a module we had. It is part of a multimedia package detailing sex work in Singapore. For this video in particular, I was the director and was tasked with storyboarding as well as researching the locations for us to film that detailed the history of the sex trade in Singapore. I helped to write the script as well which included vital information about the location and making it easily absorbable to the audience watching the video.
Beforeiko Podcast
As part of our multimedia package on the sex industry here in Singapore, we also did a podcast with a content creator to find out her thoughts about how the sex industry is perceived in the community. This however is a short snippet of the full interview which was done purposefully to show our different skills as a mass communication student.
Flames Of Conviction - Refuse To Fall
This is what I like to do on the side. I play bass for my band Flames Of Conviction and this is one of our gigs that we did at Aliwal Arts Centre. For this edit, I had to deal with multi-cam footages to capture us performing whilst showcasing the audience dancing along as well. I used colour filters to give it a night-vision look, which gives a very edgy feeling that relates to a lot of Gen-Zs.
